Building Blocks of Empowerment: PFMC’s Bread, Cake, and Cookies Production Training Program
Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation believes great baking begins not just with quality ingredients but proper training and strong partnerships. As part of this commitment, the team held a successful Bread, Cake, and Cookies Production Training Program conducted from May 11 to May 22, 2026 led by our technical expert, Olive Vigilla, the intensive 10-day training brought together 11 dedicated participants: 9 educators from Andres Bonifacio Integrated School (ABIS) and 2 staff members from Assumption School.
More than just a baking workshop, the program helped in strengthening technical skills, promoting food safety, and empowering participants with practical knowledge that can create lasting opportunities in education and enterprise. Over two productive weeks, participants underwent comprehensive training in key baking and bakery management competencies, including Food Safety and Workplace Standardization; Breadmaking using No-Time, Straight Dough, and Sponge & Dough Methods. Cake, Cookie, and Specialty Pastry Production. Bakery Mathematics and Formula Scaling and Recipe Costing, and Business Sustainability, equipping them with both technical expertise and entrepreneurial skills for long-term success in the baking industry.
Beyond mastering recipes, participants learned how to reduce waste, improve production efficiency, calculate accurate costs, and develop products with profitability in mind, which are all skills that are increasingly valuable in today’s baking industry.
The successful completion of the program reflects PFMC’s dedication to helping build stronger baking communities through education, technical support, and reliable strategies. By supporting local communities and the people in their knowledge, PFMC helps create bakeries and institutions that are better equipped to deliver quality products consistently. PFMC practices a culture where we help cultivate success throughout all components, from bakers, to recipes, to methods, building successful partnerships.
