From Shared Passion to Shared Prosperity: Women Building Futures Through Baking in Vigan

In celebration of its 10th Year Anniversary, the Metro Vigan Zumba Dancers Alliance, Inc. (MVZDA) together with Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation (PFMC) held a Bread and Pastries Training Workshop on May 21–22, 2026, at the Nan Chong School Grounds in Vigan City where women’s groups and aspiring bakers were given the chance to learn practical skills that can open doors to livelihood and entrepreneurship.

Along with the presence of the City Mayor of Vigan, Hon. Randolf “Randy” V. Singson, this event highlighted how strong communities are built when people are empowered with skills, support, and opportunity.

Empowering Bigueños Through Baking

Zumba groups are known for bringing people together through health, wellness, and camaraderie, and the women of MVZDA extended that impact beyond the dance floor. This initiative reflected the spirit of Vigan, a community that values resilience, creativity, and collective progress.

By equipping participants with hands-on baking knowledge, the workshop planted seeds for future home-based businesses, additional household income, and greater confidence among aspiring entrepreneurs in Vigan.

Flour That Fuels Meaningful Possibilities

PFMC supported this meaningful endeavor through the provision of flour products and baking ingredients used during the training sessions. More than an ingredient, reliable quality flour became the foundation upon which new skills were developed, ideas were shaped, and opportunities began to rise. All their baked creations produced during the workshop represented better livelihoods and a stronger community.
