PFMC Empowers Local Bakers in Daet, Camarines Norte through Community Baking Seminar
The Municipality of Daet in Camarines Norte, like the rest of the Bicol Region, is known for its pili nuts, which are made into various pasalubong specialties such as pili brittle, pili pastillas, pili rolls, and revel bars.
To support and uplift local communities in Daet, Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation (PFMC), a subsidiary of La Filipina Uy Gongco Group of Companies, conducted a baking seminar on November 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The full-day session was attended by 48 participants, composed of owners and staff from neighboring bakeries, home bakers, pasalubong makers, and local dealers.
The seminar aimed to introduce new recipe ideas, the importance of choosing the right flour while demonstrating the advantages and applications of PFMC products, including Montana Hard Wheat Flour, Washington Hard Wheat Flour, Amigo Soft Flour, Family All-Purpose Flour, Snowsilk Cake Flour, and Amigo Yeast. Through hands-on demonstrations and practical insights, participants gained a deeper understanding of how to select the right flour and yeast for various baked goods—enhancing consistency, texture, and overall product quality.
Aligned with PFMC and La Filipina Uy Gongco’s mission to deliver the best-quality products, the initiative underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening communities through education, as well as ensuring quality and consistent flour that bakers can rely on for every type of baked creation.
With this shared goal, PFMC continues to hold these seminars on a quarterly basis, reaching provinces across the Philippines—especially areas with a strong need for baking education and access to quality baking solutions—empowering local entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and celebrate regional flavors.
